Planning Protocol
Planning decisions in the AONB are made by the local planning authorities, not by the AONB Partnership. The Partnership's role is to provide technical advice and input where required. The machanisms for our input are set out in the Dorset AONB Planning Protocol, approved in July 2007.

Our Rural Roads Project has helped Dorset County County develop a Rural Roads Protocol to help ensure that roads in rural areas do not detract from their surrounds. The project is now working with communities to develop bespoke solutions to their rural highway problems.
