Dorset and East Devon Coastal Corridor Action Plan
The Dorset and East Devon Coastal Corridor Group first met in 2006 to discuss common issues experienced along the coast, and soon agreed to work together towards a common aim:
“We will work together to conserve and enhance the environment and heritage of the coastal corridor to enable everyone to engage with, understand and enjoy its special qualities. Working with local communities, the Coastal Corridor Action Plan will be progressed and implemented in a sustainable way to deliver environmental, economic and social benefits.”
The actions in the Draft Coastal Corridor Plan have come from a series of workshops held during 2006-07. A wide range of local people and organisations came together to identify actions they felt were important, needed consideration or would benefit the coastal corridor.
Further discussion distilled and linked many of the actions together into projects which you will see on maps and described in the tables within the Plan. The actions are grouped within six categories, each colour-coded and can be downloaded separately for ease of reading.
