Consultation with local residents revealed that access to the River Winterborne was limited in places, and so Liveability funding was used to replace stiles with gates and to provide interpretation boards at three villages along the river. Similar concerns were highlighted at a community workshop for the South Winterborne River, and the project hopes to address some of these issues in the future.
As a result the project has produced a leaflet detailing four circular walks along the River Winterborne.
These self-guided walks take in the river and countryside of the Winterborne Valley, with some linking to longer-distance routes leading to other areas of Dorset.

Two of the 'Round-a-bout the Ridge' walks produced as part of the South Dorset Ridgeway Project also pass by winterbournes. Find out more here.
