How the Partnership works
Natural England is the Government body responsible for Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and National Parks in England. It provides 75% of the core funding required to establish and implement management plans for all AONB's. Additional financial support is provided by the local authorities within the AONB area.
The Partnership is closely allied to three Heritage Committees in West Dorset, North Dorset and Purbeck Districts. These committees feed local issues and ideas to the AONB Partnership Board and assist in delivery of action on the ground.
The Partnership has a team of seven staff responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating action to conserve and enhance the AONB.
Tim Frost is the Chairman of the Dorset AONB Partnership and has lived and farmed in the AONB for many years. Tim takes an active interest in the Sustainable Development Fund projects.
