What you said
The Dorset AONB Management Plan has been produced through an extensive consultation process, involving statutory agencies, local authorities, stakeholder organisations, voluntary bodies, local groups and, crucially, local people living and working in the AONB.
The process started with a scoping exercise to identify issues and existing initiatives. From this we developed draft broad aims for management of the AONB; these formed the basis of a consultation exercise in June 2003. These included drop-in sessions for the public and workshops for parish councils and local societies. Follow the links below to see the results of these consultations and some of the comments made. These results influenced the development of the draft AONB Management Plan.
From this process, a draft AONB Management Plan was produced and circulated for consultation from 15th September to 7th November 2003. We received 139 responses with over 900 separate comments on this draft. These were carefully considered and a revised draft produced, leading to production of the final version.
