Have your Say
West Bay Coastal Developments - Have Your Say!
Residents, visitors and businesses of West Bay and surrounding areas are invited to learn more and have their say on 4 coastal development projects planned for West Bay.
Proposed designs and initial concepts from renowned artist Michael Pinsky will be on display for the community to view, discuss with the teams, and have their say on:
Thursday 19th July at the Salt House, West Bay between 2-7pm (all projects) &
Sunday 22nd July at the concrete area in front of the George pub between 1-3pm (Welcome Hub only)
The Four projects are:
- coastal defence works to protect East Beach, West Beach and riverside areas from potential flood risks and make these sites more resilient to storm damage
- Proposed board walk to improve access from East Beach car park to the crest of East Beach's shingle bank
- Proposed multi-use 'Welcome Hub' area in front of the George Hotel, to create more attractive space which can be better used and enjoyed by residents and visitors, including motorcyclists
- To enhance the traffic free route between West Bay and Bridport and create a more attractive welcome for cyclists and walkers arriving in West Bay.
Dorset Coast Forum and Michael Pinsky are working with Dorset AONB, Jurassic Coast Trust, Dorset County Council & the Enviroment Agency, in delivering these projects to protect and enhance this iconic coastal location.
